United Orange County to East Coast and Langley AFB F-22s

I forgot that I hadn't posted these pictures yet. I took this trip in August to DC and Virginia. I flew United Airlines from Orange County (SNA) to San Francisco (SFO) to Baltimore (BWI). The transcontinental flight to BWI was a redeye.

Summer evening flight to San Francisco

A319 wing and engine above California

Is that the new Apple building?

This plane caught my eye as we were landing.

Realized it was a Delta 757-300

Lots of Star Alliance wide bodies in the evening.

After a long weekend visiting friends in DC, I took Amtrak south to Newport News, VA to see another friend. I was able to visit Langley AFB and see some planes up close and personal.

View of F-22 taking off from the control tower.

In front of a T-38 painted like an enemy jet.

An F-22 landed just yards away.
When it was time to go home, I too my United flight out of Norfolk, VA. This flight ended up being very delayed, but I had a long layover in Newark, so it was fine.

A United Express E-170 to Newark.

Lots of ships in Norfolk.

My flight arrived Newark (EWR) in Terminal A, but my connection was in Terminal C. You take a bus between the terminals so that you don't have to clear security again.

This was the view from the shuttle stop.

This is the view from the very large United Club.

View from seat 1A to SNA.

Leaving New Jersey for the west coast.

Dinner at 35K feet.
