I attended a conference in Atlanta and flew on United Airlines from Orange County through Denver both ways. I left around lunch time on a 737-800. I had a seat in the exit row and thankfully had the middle seat open. It was amazing. I can't remember the last time the seat next to me was open.

I had a quick one hour layover in Denver, so I didn't have time to do much beside get some coffee and food at Starbucks. My flight from Denver to Atlanta was on a CRJ-700 and left out of the Express gates.
The seat next to me was open once again and I not only had a ton of legroom in the bulkhead seat of coach, but no one next to me. It was an amazing 5 hours across the country.

I landed around 11p in Atlanta and was able to get the MARTA to Peachtree Center soon after. It only takes about 20 minutes. I stayed at the Westin Peachtree Center, which was the tallest hotel in the world when it opened in 1977.

My conference started in the afternoon and I was able to get to the King Center in the morning before everything started.
One of the nights I had dinner with colleagues at Nikolai's Roof, which is located on the top floor of the Hilton Atlanta, about 4 blocks from the Westin.

My conference was located at the Georgia Congress Center right next to the Omni and the CNN Center.

I did not luck out on my return flights with open seats next to me. It's probably because I flew on a Friday afternoon.

I flew a 737-800 on the way back to Orange County. It was a super bumpy flight and about half the time the flight attendants weren't allowed out of their seats.
